I was hoping that Jennifer Salvato Doktorski debut novel would be it, and while it wasn't, I certainly enjoyed reading it. How My Summer Went Up in Flames starts with Rosie, a teenage girl who recently had a temporary restraining order put against her after she torched her ex-boyfriend; Joey's car, when she discovered he was cheating on her. ― Jennifer Salvato Doktorski, quote from How My Summer Went Up in Flames "I don't know how long we stay that way, but we watch the sun go down together. I've read that some people had trouble connecting with the protagonist, but I actually really liked Rosie.
For those who can stomach Rosie, How My Summer Went Up in Flames will be a fun, summery read.
